The sound is the fundamental means by which we express the music.

It ‘a phenomenon produced by the vibrations of an elastic body that are transmitted through the air, water, or a solid.

Think of a taut rope and vibrated.

In the case of musical sounds vibration is regular.

The irregular vibration produces the sound.

The vibrations thus produced and transmitted in the form of sound waves become sound when they reach our ear.
Transformed into nerve impulses, they are perceived by the brain as sound.

The quality or characteristics of the sound are three:
height, intensity and timbre.

To analyze and describe the phenomenon of sound in full in addition to the above mentioned three qualities we need to know some parameters that characterize the sound wave and its propagation as
the frequency, the wavelength, the propagation speed, etc..

A sound is pure defines when it is generated by a single wave.

The pure tones are obtained with dedicated electronic instruments.

In nature, the sound is never pure.

The vibrating elastic body generates secondary waves of higher frequency and lower intensity harmonics calls.
